Jio integrates with WhatsApp to offer mobile recharge, payments to users
NEW DELHI: India’s largest telco Reliance Jio has integrated its services with the instant messaging platform WhatsApp for offering the convenience of recharging, making payments, among other services, to its users.
Jio users will now be able to get their queries answered on WhatsApp, raise complaints; get a new Jio SIM or port-in (MNP); avail of support for Jio SIM, JioFiber, international roaming, and JioMart.
Furthermore, they can send a ‘Hi’ message to 70007 70007 from WhatsApp to get all payment options such as e-wallets, UPI, credit and debit card, etc.
Initially, the services will be offered in English and Hindi languages, while support for more Indian languages will be rolled out later.
Meanwhile, its rival Vodafone Idea (Vi) in May last year launched an AI-powered Virtual Agent VIC on its Digital Assets platform and on WhatsApp.
This year the telco integrated postpaid and prepaid recharge and bill payments feature into the virtual agent.
