Android users, WhatsApp is rolling out these new features
Instant messaging app WhatsApp has rolled out a new update that includes continuous voice note support for all its Android users. In the same update, the platform also has rolled out the ability to track the number of times a message has been forwarded.
Both the features were in the testing phase but now have been rolled out for all Android users with the update v2.19.150.
Consecutive voice messages feature
As the name suggests, courtesy this feature Android users will not have to play each voice note they receive individually as they will be played continuously. However, it is applicable only in the case of consecutive voice messages. All the user has to do is play the first voice note, following which rest of the voice messages will be automatically played in the sequence they were sent.
Forwarding information feature
First spotted in April in the beta version, this feature lets the users know the number of times a message has been forwarded. This users can check by selecting the message and tapping on the three-dot icon on the right and selecting ‘Info’. Readers must note that this information will be available only for sent messages because the user can navigate into Message Info only for messages he/she sent. Due to this, if you want to see how many times a message has been forwarded, you will have to forward the same and go back to Message Info.
Recently, it was announced that WhatsApp will soon get Status Ads by 2020 as announced by Facebook. Along with this, the app will also get Business and product catalog. The company is expected to introduce ads which will click to WhatsApp from Facebook and ads that click to WhatsApp from Instagram. Facebook and Instagram users will see an ad which will prompt them to open and share on WhatsApp.
